AI QA Engineer
QA at NRD Tech isn't ticket-clicking. You'll use AI to generate test plans from specs, write Playwright suites by directing agents, and spot the failure modes our developers didn't think of. If you're a sharp tester who's curious about AI — this role is built for you.
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India (On-site)Full-time · 0 – 4 yearsPosted 4 May 2026
What you'll do
- Use AI agents to generate, expand, and maintain automated test suites across our web app and APIs.
- Read product specs and turn them into test matrices — happy paths, edge cases, regression coverage — by briefing agents clearly.
- Run exploratory testing on real user flows and report bugs that get fixed, not bugs that get debated.
- Build and maintain Playwright / API test suites; review the agent's output the same way an engineer reviews code.
- Collaborate with developers in the same room — you're a peer, not a downstream gate.
What we're looking for
- 0–4 years of QA, testing, or software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to assist testing — generating test cases, writing test scripts with Cursor/Claude, or similar.
- Solid understanding of test fundamentals: equivalence partitioning, boundary analysis, regression strategy.
- Comfort reading code (JavaScript/TypeScript) — you'll need to follow what developers built before you can break it well.
- Excellent written and spoken English — sharp bug reports are half the job.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site at our Coimbatore office (no remote, no hybrid).
Nice to have
- Hands-on with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Postman/REST API testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines — you've watched tests run on GitHub Actions or similar.
- A bug-bounty or open-source testing contribution.
- Curiosity about how utility-operations or B2B software actually gets used.
What a day might look like
- 1Read a new feature spec and brief an agent to draft the test matrix; sharpen it with the cases the agent missed.
- 2Generate Playwright tests with Cursor; run them locally; fix the flaky ones before they hit CI.
- 3Pair with a developer on a tricky bug — you reproduce it, they fix it, you verify the fix doesn't break anything else.
- 4Spend 30 minutes doing pure exploratory testing — no script, just the product, looking for what doesn't feel right.
- 5Share a new prompting pattern in the team's weekly knowledge-share.
